Well, there *was* a contrabass trombone for sale - looks like
somebody snatched it up before the West coast even woke up.  See
http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1606626326.

Subject: [CB] Five Years of Contrabass Email :-)

On this day (June 13) in 1996, the contrabass digest began.  The
first digests were entirely manual, cut and pasted together from
email sent to me.  Since then, we've been through several varieties
and versions of list management software (not to mention a few
different addresses).  For anyone interested in the archives, all of
the digests are posted and up to date.  I haven't kept records of how
many subscribers there were at any given point, but as of 6/24/96 the
list was up to 14 subscribers.  The current figure is somewhere
around 220.

On 6/13/96, the topics of discussion were my introduction and list
rules, and notices of a bass sax for sale (US$8K) and a contra-alto
clarinet (price not stated).  The digest is posted at
http://www.contrabass.com/contra-archive/contra1.html

On 6/13/97, we discussed Wagner tubas (tuben?), contrabass clarinet
reeds, David DeJarnett's contrabassoon web page, and a few CD reviews
(one of which included a slide saxoprano).  The digest is
http://www.contrabass.com/contra-archive/contra248.html

On 6/13/98, we were talking about sarrusophone and bassoon
mouthpieces, stands for straight contrabass clarinets, Michel
Jolivet's Wolf contrabassoon and the IDRS convention.  See
http://www.contrabass.com/1998/1998-06-13.html

June 13, 1999 found us discussing online sheet music stores, monster
orchestration, basso profundo, sousaphones, and bass saxophones.  See
http://www.contrabass.com/1999/1999-06-13.html

For June 13, 2000, we discussed contra altissimo, bass and contrabass
saxophones and contrabass sarrusophones for sale, and Steven Wright.
See http://www.contrabass.com/2000/2000-06-13.html

On June 13, 2001, we discussed...   ;-)  See
http://www.contrabass.com/2001/2001-06-13.html.  Tomorrow!
