I find this very strange, since one description I read years ago
by someone who played the BBb at the Leblanc shop said the instrument
was magnificent in every way. I'll have to see if I can find the
quote...

both for more info
on their Bb and Eb contrabasses, and received little information
and
lukewarm response. Considering their list price, I would
think they should
treat every interested response with their utmost attention, oh
well.
If anyone could indeed convince Oris or the likes to make an
octocontrabass, more power to you!

The only response and solution : find this instrument and test
it !!! Where is it ? In a private collection (not showed)? In a museum
? The instrument has been damaged ?
I 'm referred to the science of Mr EPPELSHEIM...

Subject: [CB] comparisons of contrabass clarinet models
There was someone on the list who, awhile back, posted what I
remember to be a very helpful assessment of the playing qualities of
various contrabass clarinet models, including the Selmer Paris model
and maybe Ripamonti and/or Orsi. I am wanting to know how all of
these compare to each other. Is there any consensus on this list
as to which company makes the best BBb contrabass clarinet?
Why have I seen it reported somewhere that the Leblanc
corporation was the pioneer of the BBb contra in the '50s? I
mistook it to mean that they made the first successful ones, but that
apparently isn't the case. ???

The paper clip design has the advantage to be compact compared
to SEMER contra.
Plus, the metal is more beautiful and resistant than the
wood...
