Reply-To: contrabass@contrabass.com>The

>(perhaps that is the immensaphone?).I'm no expert or anything, but I was reading a book about Adolphe Sax and
twice in the book the subcontrabass sax came up. One time, it was talking
about, I think, exactly what you were talking about, which was that they
took this saxophone to world expositions. It said that you had to stand on
a four step ladder to reach the mouthpiece.I also was talking to the guy who was practically the brains behind the LA
Sax contrabass sax. He said that he has a picture of him standing next to
the bell of the subcontrabass sax. I don't know if if was just a prototype
like I belive Paul Cohen said, but it could have been real.

Subject: [CB] Back to the Beginning...
Reply-To: contrabass@contrabass.comWell, here are the results:
- Prefer the new (eGroups) list: 1
- Prefer the old list: 7
- Don't care: 4
- Unsubscribed from eGroups list: about 30
I'll delete the eGroups list in a few minutes. The "original" list
(contrabass@contrabass.com) is still in operation, and you can go
back to/continue using that address. In the meantime, does anyone
have other suggestions? I've heard coollist.com has frequent service
outages, but that Topica is relatively reliable. Anyone have
comments/objections?Thanks,
Grant

Whatcha think?

>>No! Mailing lists are easier to keep alive. With message boards, people get
busy, and eventually it'll take a dive and never have any worthwhile activity
in it.Stuart
