For anyone involved in clarinet choirs I would like to inform you of my
"Threnody," op. 6, for 3 soprano clarinets, one alto, one bass, and one
contra-alto. Parts will need to be made up, but I can make copies of the
score available now for anyone who is interested.

Speaking of clarinet choirs; I've recently finished 2 if anyone is
interested...  I can e-mail you midis or (snail) mail you parts; depending
on if you have Finale; Encore or whatever else that can decode midis...

Great to hear from Tristan Carpenter and Aaron J. Rabushka that you're both
composing for low-pitched instruments.  Some of the transcriptions work pretty
well, but interesting original compositions with prominent and/or solo parts
written especially for bass instruments work a lot better.  Tristan, I know
you're giving yourself some parts to play that give you more to do than count
rests!

My bass sax playing is a temporary casualty of the weather.  Last Tuesday, we
had the first real snow of the year.   My side of the street gets the drifts,
so we had about 10" of heavy, wet snow.  I dug up big shovel-loads as if it
were powder.  Didn't realize at the time that I was doing some damage, but
found out a couple of hours later that I had a "slow pull" in a back muscle.
Nothing serious, healing fast, but it's the same muscle I need to lift the
bass sax out of its case.  !@#%^&*!
