EDITOR'S NOTE: Short one today, but I don't want to let the messages get too stale.

Ok I'll come out of the closet, you got me to tell my only vise

Yes, I too am a Contra-Basser, Fox Contra Bassoon & Leblanc BBb Contrabass Clarinet to low C, It all started in high school (cl 74), played the CBC in chamber orchestra, both are challenging for me to play today, for the wind power necessary to play long notes is lacking.possibly with more practice & exercise I could hold out a low C.

ps. Regarding a CD recording, Canon in D, Tocata in Fuge (sp), I could think of others. regarding existing recordings, I think that on the "Raisins Christmas" there is a piece where the contrabass clarinet is the featured instrument.

I have a doctor friend in Paris who is into flutes. If no one on this list is friends with LeBlanc, maybe she could/would make an initial contact?

Should I proceed with her, or do we have our own resources in Francis?

Mark

Mark,

It sounds as if several subscribers have contacted Leblanc in the past. Perhaps one of them would be the best to make the initial contact, if their welcome hasn't worn out. ;-) Of course, if your friend already has a contact there...

Grant
