The fix I always use for my customers is to put the peg in my
mini-lathe and cut a series of notches or grooves all the way around,
in 1/2 inch intervals. This gives a series of points where the
peg screw will "notch" into place and it does not slip. An easy
fix for your local repair tech.
You could even order an extra peg and notch that one, to keep
the original peg "original" for resale purposes. I got the idea
from cello and bass pegs, many of which are built this way.

I emailed Orsi about an original mouthpiece for is metal Eb
contrabass. Well, I got a response this morning, Orsi said they
will need the dimensions of the tenon opening, and can specially make
one for me to fit.
Well, this is interesting; I thought they used to make these and
would they keep the dimensions on file? And supposedly they can
still make this to order? I am puzzled as to why they will need
this info from me, unless they just need to confirm?
Anyway, the cost is 450.00 Euros!! Can’t imagine it being
that costly to make?
Too rich for my blood...especially there is no guarantee that it
will play better, I think I stay with my Fobes for now.
