Dear List,
My apologies. It is "Jazzophone", not "Jazz-o-Sax". This is a metal, double wall C soprano clarinet in the shape of a saxophone made by Selmer. It is similar in appearance to "The World's Cutest Curved C Soprano Buescher Clarinet" now up for auction on Ebay (see: Ebay # 7307470176), except that the body is double wall metal construction instead of wood. Almost zero information on the Internet about "Jazzophone".
Cheers,
Peter

I thought a jazzophone was a trumpet in the shape of a sax...

I am performing the Creston Sonata for my state's solo contest.  After months of searching, I have failed to find any recordings of this piece.
Any Suggestions?

Is that the Sonata for Saxophone & Piano, Op. 19 by Paul Creston? Try the CD "Moving Along" by Harvey Pittel (1997 Crystal Records #665). I haven't heard it myself, but that's the only one that pops up on Amazon.com.

Enjoy!

I've been way too busy lately, but finally got around to downloading a picture off my cellphone, and up to contrabass.com. For a picture of the latest arrival, see http://www.contrabass.com/pages/hph1.jpg.

Pictures of the soirre at Jay's will follow ... eventually. I have some great pictures taken by Adrienne and Arthur (you may not already be aware that Arthur is an excellent photographer, with published work and gallery space), which will go up as soon as I have time to downsize them a little bit.

Enjoy!
