Subject: [CB] Seeking pages from Heckel's book
From: Robert Howe
Hello all
Has anyone a copy of the book by Wilhelm Heckel, "Der fagott,
durchgesehen und wesentlich erganzt von Wilhem Hermann Heckel"
(Leipzig, 1931)? I cannot find it in any of the city or
university libraries to which I have access.
I seek passages from pages 24, 26 and 30 relating to Wagner and
the genesis of the Heckelphone. These passages are frequently
quoted by secondary authors but I wish to see the original text and to
have my own translation made. This is for a paper on the history
of the Heckelphone which will appear shortly.
Whoever has this and supplies it to me will be richly rewarded
by my public thanks in the paper, which is to appear in the upcoming
issue of the Journal of the American Musical Instrument Society.
I will be most grateful for this help and will of course reimburse any
expenses.
Many thanks
Robert Howe
