Look for recordings by jazz bassoonist Michael Rabinowitz.
The Mingus "Epitaph" recording features him on Wolverine Blues.

Jim, I enjoy listening to Susan Nigro, albeit that's
contrabassoon. How about that bassoon group out of Toronto?
"Bassoonatics" or something like that...I think I have their CD, and if
you're interested, I'd be happy to trade you for something.

Check out Paul Hansen for some very fine bassoon playing in that
style.

Look for recordings by Wilbur de Paris "New New Orleans Jazz
Band" or "Rampart St. Paraders" that sometimes have bassoon
players. Also, I recall that Benny Moten had some bassoon
players in the 1920s and early 1930 ( blues & jazz tunes were
somewhat interchangeable terms in that era... )
