Subject: [CB] Nickel toxicityJust to show how toxic nickel can be:
In 1974 I visited Sudbury, Ontario for a drum and bugle corps contest.
Sudbury is home to *massive* nickel-smelting operations, perhaps the
world's largest, and the largest smokestack I've ever seen belching a
thick plume of smoke which stretched to the horizon.Almost nothing green grew there in Sudbury. There were no lawns, and
precious few trees, which seemed to struggle to live.Later a report on acid rain I read said that much of the problems of
acid rain within the North American continent originated from that one
smokestack.Regards....
Lou
