Perhaps, but I have seen far more instruments and references to the
instruments as Dulcian than I have as Curtal.
I built a tenor dulcian some years ago, and would never think of naming
it a curtal.

About like calling a tuba "bombardon"  just because the frenchies call it
that.

More of an educated guess: the "most common" sarrusophone in the US
is the Conn Eb contrabass.  And since the only variety of
sarrusophone Conn made was the Eb contrabass, that is almost
certainly what you have there.  Fortunately, that means that it
should be easier for you (or whoever the lucky bidder is) to find a
bocal or have one made (not to mention having a new set of keys made).

Boy, I tell you, I have trouble with this new fangled readin' and a 'ritin'.
Grant, I thought you were talking about the case behind the partial sarrus.,
which is an old Conn Trombone case, with an old Conn trombone inside.  I can
find no name or number on my partial Sarrusaphone.  I am sorry for the
confusion on my part, and i am not trying to mislead anyone.

Does anyone know if these cases are still made?  It would be a great help to
me.  Thanks, any info appreciated.

Yep, they're still in the WW&BW catalog.  It's called a "traypack" case, and they're available in
alto/clarinet/flute or tenor/clarinet/flute.  For some reason, they
never got around to making bari/bass clarinet/bassoon... ;-)
