I've heard there is more than a bit of electronic reinforcement at Hammond
Castle in Gloucester, MA. I don't know specifically if it applies to
synthesized frequencies. The castle is a building that was built around the
pipe organ from pieces of architecture shipped over from Europe. The
builder/owner didn't actually play any keyboards, but was an inventor who
built a player mechanism for the instrument and a timer to give himself time
to get out of the building before the deafening sound began. It could be heard
several miles out to sea (it sits on the edge of the harbor) and reportedly
made him very unpopular with his nearby neighbors. Mr. Hammond was credited
with inventing, among other things, the radio guided missile. He had over 100
patents to his name, some of which are in electronics. The swimming pool in
the castle could be filled with fresh water, but if preferred, a lever could
be thrown to drain the fresh water which somehow siphoned sea water into the
pool to replace it. I am long overdue in hearing an organ concert there. Last
time I visited it was under renovation. I'll try to get more info on its
stops, etc. Halloween at the castle might be fun. There is even a dungeon!
