Finally catching up on a few projects.  I've just posted a page with
information (and a picture) of Philip Neuman's slide reed
subcontrabass, as played on "A Pioneer Brass Christmas."  The URL is
http://www.contrabass.com/pages/sliderackett.html.  It is linked to
the main Compendium page, as well as the reed contrabass discography
page.

It does bear a certain resemblance to the tromboon, but you'll notice
that it lacks a bocal, and has dimensions that differ somewhat from
the usual tenor trombone.
