i have an old conn bari sax - #97,xxx with a great sound that only
goes to Eb. i've never been able to find an altissimo E or F on it.
bob thomas speaks of getting this on his buescher  bass sax.
could someone pass on what works for them?  thanks, nick delmatto

Right, right.  That's my experience, too.  LH middle finger down
is pretty stuffy.  I'm so used to using the alt fingering that
I forgot to list that important item.

I'm not sure this will help much. These fingerings
don't work on my King bari, for instance.
If you're reading this with a fixed width font, what
follows will look like a fingering chart. (I hope.)

 I get E with:
        * x R R = register key
   x * = LH 1st fing Eb lever slightly
o     open.  Mine is set up so that
        the Eb will open slightly
o     without opening the D below it.
   o
   o

 F is easier:
   x R
   o
   x

   x
   o
   o

Probably much more helpful would be an altissimo chart
for bari if it includes those notes. I stumbled over one
while looking for a bass fingering chart in Saxophone
Journal.   I'll go see if I can find it again.

For those of you watching the issue that briefly flared on the list
about a week ago, look here for a fairly complete state of the issue:
