Here's a post from the recorder list.  Dolmetsch is working on low recorders due to popular demand from the recorder list members.

The Millennium Basses are expected to be as follows:

Great Bass in C (octave below tenor) pitch a=440Hz.
Great Bass in C (octave below tenor) pitch a=415Hz.
Contra-Bass in F (octave below bass) pitch a=440 Hz.
Contra-Bass in F (octave below bass) pitch a=415Hz.
Sub-Contra-Bass in C (octave below Great Bass) pitch a=440Hz.
Sub-Contra-Bass in C (octave below Great Bass) pitch a=415Hz.
Contra-Sub-Contra-Bass in F (octave below Contra Bass) pitch a=440Hz.
Contra-Sub-Contra-Bass in F (octave below Contra Bass) pitch a=415Hz.

The design work has begun and prototype models will form the major
part of our 1999 research work.

The specifications will be as follows:

Silent keywork, easy two octave range scale, full range of alternative
fingerings, strong full tone at the bottom,  each supplied with case.

Members interested in particular models are welcome to forward this
message back to me with their interest marked below.   We will then
post new periodically to a special Web Page on our site - in due
course this will include some drawings or photographs, delivery times,
prices, etc.
