I don't have a tube of Liquid Nails handy to check for removal recommendations,
but you could try acetone or methyl-ethyl ketone.  Note, the use of either
chemical should be done in a well ventilated area (i.e. outside).  Both
are very flammable.  A well stocked hardware store should have a selection
of organic solvents that may work.

Here's a strange one: a Gretxch "Saxonette" at
http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=58410347.  Despite
the fact that the bell is engraved "Gretsch Saxonette", it really looks
like an alto clarinet to me.  Has anyone ever heard of these before -
saxonettes, NOT alto clarinets ;-)  ?

North Texas State was the school with the great jazz bands.  I used to have an
LP of that band with Lyle Mays of Pat Metheny's band on keyboards. A really
great set of performances!!! This was the album with the lizard on the jacket.

The ever-popular Scott Robinson Showed me a saxonette he got recently.  It
ain't nothing but a clarinet in B flat with a curved mouthpiece end and a
tipped up bell at the other end.  Just a cute idea that Gretsch came up
with like the King Saxello.  I am told there was a time you could buy
upturned bells separately and some were called 'claribells'.

THAT IS WHERE THE TERM "LOBBY LIZARD" STARTED REGAURDING CATS THAT HUNG OUT IN
BRUCE HALLS LOBBY(The Musicians Dorm) LAB 75 was the LP. NTSU has alot of old
horns used by the wind ensemble.  I played at least two different mark VI Bass
Saxes as well as a 56xxx Bari the school owned.

Craig-

Another common solvent is in fingernail polish remover, which also has some
kind of oil to prevent your fingernails from drying.

Whenever the problem is solved, I hope someone posts what solvent worked, and
can tell us what kind of material Liquid Nails is made of.

He certainly is popular around MY house! (Except when my spouse
contemplates me bringing home a contrabass sax for my bass to play with.)

Great band, great charts. I couldn't agree more.

point of view) and jr collleges in general dont supply exotic instruments,
come on a Heckel contra bassoon cost 30k$+ in todays money,, Fox comon 12 k$+,
hoax, hype, you just wanted to stirr us up :)

Hey
I am new on the list.  I am 17 and will be majoring in both music and biology.
I play Bass Clarinet in the high school band, and want to continue playing
music as long as I live.  I want my own Bass Clarinet, but I can't afford a
new one, so I need help looking for a good second hand instrument.  I want it
to be in ok condition, but not too expensive.  Preferably with the extra Eb/Ab
key, and if possible extended range to low C.

Thanks
Roger
