Hello

I have good news. Eva Kingma, the large flute specialist and inventor of the Kingma-system(quartertone), has informed me that she will be making the first of her ContraBass flutes (also known as OctoBass) by the end of 1998. And I will be the first recipient!!!!!!

I'm jazzed!

Subject: Sarrusaphones by ORSI?

I read on this list once (I think. It might have been Klarinet, if anyone is familiar with that list), that an italian company ORSI (or OMNI, not sure) would custom make almost any instrument, and I was wondering whether not a sarrusaphone would be too far out of their scope.

Granted, it would definately be expensive to custom make any instrument, but I was wondering if anyone wanted one, if they could.

Yes, they do (and will). If you look at the "trip to italy" images, there are a few of a tenor sarrusophone made at ORSI. All of their instruments are hand made, based on "example" instruments they keep on shelves near the ceiling and cabinets placed around the work floor of their factory.

But they're not cheap...
