Contrabass-list Fri, 5 Dec 1997 Volume 1 : Number 54

In this issue:

Date: Thu, 4 Dec 1997 16:57:56 -0700 (MST)
From: "J. Shouryu Nohe" <jnohe@nmsu.edu>
Subject: Vito and Yamaha Basses

Well, I think that the Yamaha is a little superior to the Vito. For the most part, everything Yamaha makes is, and what I've played confirms that, if you bar the fact that the Vito I've played was almost as old as I am...

Coming soon! A whole new Dope-onna-rope! That's right! Shouryu is
changing EVERYTHING!!! A new signature with new and improved design! A
new web page with...>gasp<...USEFUL STUFF! Stay tuned in the winter when
Warm Up gets a whole new makeover!!! http://web.nmsu.edu/~jnohe
(This does not mean, however, that Shouryu has a girlfriend yet.)

Mark, as I stated before, I work at one of the most technilogically-advanced video post-production facilities ever. I say; don't go for the highlights. Tape everything possible, and send the raw footage to me. I will put together a fine program retrospective, professionally done, gratis, just for the chance to be able to be a part of all the proceedings, as previous engagements prevent me from attending this year.

Let me know if you can use my gratis services!

Steven Lederman

P.S.- the editing is free; people will have to pay for their own tapes and postage, which you may want to sell as an item with which to raise funds for next year's fest!

No sweat, it's the same horn. The Yamaha student models basses, altos and Eb's are all Vito made stencil instruments.

Subject: Concert Notice!

The San Jose Wind Symphony will be performing this Sunday, 12/7/97, at 7:00 PM at Peninsula Covenant Church (3560 Farm Hill Road, Redwood City, CA, 650-365-8094), with the PCC Christmas Choir. Lots of carols in interesting arrangements, and several pieces performed jointly with the choir. I think admission is free. Come and enjoy!
