Subject: [CB] BBb St Petersburg 202N Tuba for Sale

Hi folks,
I am moving to Indiana and will not be able to play for a good
while due to my new job...I wanted to sell my almost new (19 months
old) BBb St Petersburg 202N and then buy a good used Cerveny 693,
Miraphone 1291 or maybe I can score a good deal on a Rudy Meinl
Bayreuth when I am ready to play again. I don't want my St Pete to sit
unattended and can use the money for moving expenses....plus, my wife
won't let me entertain having another tuba until this one goes...:)
It is in excellent condition (one small dent from an ink pen and
some nickel wear near the bow where one's leg touches) and comes with
an MTS hard case (brand new and it has a wheel..yes), a Tuba Exchange
gig bag and a cleaning kit. The stock MP is in storage, so I can't get
to it and I won't be selling my Perantucci PT-50+ Mega MP...it is lke
selling your toothbrush. I paid a little over $3500 brand new in Oct,
2003...am looking for $1900 plus shipping. I currently live in
Fayetteville, NC in case any one was interested. Other than the group,
what is the best way to get this out to tubists? Should I canvas the
schools and local music stores or is there a better way.
Anyone interested in pics or further specs, just let me know.

Didn't you already post this once last week, or are there a lot of
people moving to Indiana these days selling St. Pete Tubas?

Hello all, did anyone see this horn on eBay? What is your opinion on
its condition and price?
Grant, don't you have a similar horn in your collection?

Hi Willy,
Yes, I have an Eb contra, although mine is by Gautrot (French) instead
of Conn. The Conn contra is very similar to the Buffet and
Evette-Schaffer, having a somewhat narrower bore (and thus a reedier
timbre). I've seen better condition. I've also seen much worse
condition! This horn at least has a useable bocal, and appears to have
all the keys intact. At US$2-3K, it would be reasonable to have it
overhauled and refurbished a bit (including straightening out the
bell).
Enjoy! Grant
