Hello, I am not sure if this post is allowed, Grant, please delete it if so.

Does anyone wish to part with their Selmer/Bundy contra alto?  I have been searching for one on and off eBay for a long time, but haven't been successful due to timing, finance, etc.  Finally I think I am in position to buy one, does anyone on this list have one that they would like to sell to a contra lover?

Please contact me privately.

Thank you.

Willy

I do not have any real experience here but:

If you have a cylidrical tube and you want to get  the sound out with minimum effects use an exponential curve for the bell. Choose the parameters so thet the curves match well at the join, no sharp changes in direction. Make it maybe 4 diameters long.  Flare from one diameter to 6 or 8 diameters.  Good Luck !!

What about the european clarinet maker who makes some of his clarinets with a hole in the tube just before the bell?  Isn't this done so that the bell doesn't alter the color of the clarinet's low E??  I would think that the tube itself would have to be longer as a result, but to have a better low E, I would think it would be worth it.
