A week or so ago there was a Selmer model 30 bass clarinet on ebay, using "private auction". It's location appeared to be France / Canada (or vice versa). There was no payment method stated and no packing and delivery costs. I emailed the seller some technical questions and asked for the serial number. No reply. Within some hours the item had completely disappeared, and it's not on completed items so I can't check any details. This looks like another attempt at a fraud - and just reinforces the need to contact the seller and look out for suspicious details.

Subject: Re: [CB] Saint Saens oboe Sonata, Shostakovitch Festival Overture
From: Robert Howe

Hi all

A fortnight ago several friends were able to fax me a copy of the Saint-Saens oboe 'Sonata' to replace one that I have (permanently) lost. Now I ask, does anyone have third oboe, third clarinet, and/or contrabassoon parts to the Shostakovitch 'Festival Overture'?  I am playing third oboe in a local orchestra, the set of parts is short these three sheets, and the publisher will no longer supply extra parts due to copyright law changes.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
