For unknown and undoubtedly idiotic reasons, Leblanc will not
release a serial number list keyed to date of manufacture. As
John K. notes, going through their website in France is slow and
complex.
Best regards.

Ken-
Dave has a
list, but I'm not sure it is accurate. It would seem to start in
1965, so older instruments are assigned a 1965 date.
In 2000, I
wrote to dave about my Contra and an old Leblanc Bass Clarinet.
He replied that they both were made in 1965. The Contra is in
good shape, and could even be newer than that. However the Bass
could easily be from the forties or fifties, and may be "high pitch"
since the neck is pulled out all the way.
There is
currently a Leblanc Bass Clarinet on E-Bay that appears to be a newer
model than mine. It has a rod, and the case latches are the newer
version, but the description also claims a 1965 date!
