Subject: [CB] Interesting store/collection in Sacramento, Ca.

Hi all,

I was playing this weekend at the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee and finally had a chance to make it over to Tims Band Instrument Service. He has a very interesting collection of very odd, old, brass (and woodwind) instruments on his shop walls - well worth the trip.  If he is not too busy he is more than willing to talk to you about the horns and maybe even let you play one or two... most are not for sale! (not too many actual contrabass instruments, but there are quite a few odd things that have been discussed on this list in the past.)

His shop is VERY hard to find - it is in a back corner of a tiny shopping center on a busy street - use a map page to find 2363 Arden Way, Sacramento CA ( he is on the north side of the street about halfway between Fulton and Howe, generally near the Cal Expo Fairground area.) The phone number is 916-925-9160. I think his shop is open Tues-Sat. but it probably would be best to call ahead for open hours.
