I'm definitely regretting selling my Leblanc Contra right now. Someone just
gave me a disc from a concert I did in '97 - we did Children's March, and
dropped the last C down the octave. It's so cool.

I got the issue of Leblanc Bell with the contra photo on the cover.  The
magazine is a house organ for Leblanc dealers, but occasionally has
information of interest to players.

It's a nice photo, and there are a few more inside, but that's about it.  The
painter who got the contra didn't play any instrument before he got it and
just fools around on it.

He made a semi-abstract painting on musical themes (rather uninteresting, I
thought), and Leblanc bought it.  Instead of money, he asked them for the
contra because he thought it looked interesting.  (And we list-members can
certainly understand that!)

One more thing.  The instrument is the all-chrome model rather than the
current black one.  On a slow-selling instrument like this, presumably
Leblanc still has stock on the old model.

Best regards.

Depends on when he actually received it.  Did the article say (I
don't remember off hand)?  I thought that the 340 was "out of stock
and backordered" for about a year, and assumed that he must have
received his prior to that.
