Subject: Re: [CB] Adam Smith Never Punched an Oboistreminds me of Monty Pythons "News For Parrots," but anyway,
on the subject of Oboes -
I was talking with a friend (who used to play Oboe in the San Francisco area until
he had a stroke) about this list. He asked me if there was reference to the Bass
Oboe and I see a listing on the compendium - but no picture or further details other
than the Discography. How would a "Bass Oboe" be different than something from the
Bassoon family? (I guess I am not really up on the fine details/differences of most
double-reed instruments...)any advanced research out there?
