Subject: [CB] The End of the World - or What to do with your Thursday Night

So - many of you may be wondering, "What happened to that smart***ed
Shouryu Nohe guy?"  Or perhaps, "Why isn't he posting?" or "Why hasn't he
been around?" or "Where has he been hiding?"

Actually, he's been practicing.  (And working.)  He probably hasn't seen
the light of day for several weeks in preparation for next Thursday
night's recital.  That's right, ladies and gentlemen, Thursday, August 9,
8pm, the big one hits Cruces again.

So, in truth, he hasn't been too cool to hang out with his buddies - he
just wanted to get his butt out of college (just in time to get it right
back in again)...for a full hour (and a bit of change, perhaps), you can
get your fill (and then some) of clarinet chamber music, including:

Sonata, by Johann "I Wrote the First One, Not Brahms" Wanhal
Sonata, by Paul "My Theory is Cooler Than Your Theory" Hindemith
Sonatina, by R.R. "I Don't Need Triads That Make Sense" Bennett
Fantasiestucke, by Robert "How Crazy Am I Today" Schumann

Also performing for the first time that evening is NMSU first clarinet
quartet, Phatgeoque! (Okay, well, the first really cool one to come along
in a while...)  They will be performing Scherzo from Beethoven's Opus 18.

Of course, you are now all asking the most important question: Will there
be punch and pie?  The answer is no.  Punch and pie is expensive, and
instead, this time, there will be punch and cookies.  If that's a problem,
then...deal.
