Speaking of BIG saxophones, there is a BASS saxophone *with low A* on ebay right now: see http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1446359931

If you're looking for a more conventional bass, Charles Fail has a 1960's Noblet bass at http://www.charlesfail.com/Saxophones.htm#Bass

Enjoy!

One day I'll have to get me a Low A Bass Sax
The Bass that I own is similar to that second one.  The top is shorter and the first curve (closest to the mouthpiece) is lower to the ground.  It's a Vito though.

Grant;
If I knew you were going to Vienna I would've told you to go to this musical instrument store that has a contrabass sax on display.

Grant,

next time you come to Vienna, you have to visit me. I'm a german bass-/contrabassclarinetplayer who lives now for three years in Vienna. I've already played this contrabass saxophone in this music store. It works very fine all over the range. I can't remember the brand but I'll take a look at it next time.
