Umm, apparently that should be "Bill Elgart"...

I've never played with another bass sax, but I've tested my pitch against my
electronic piano (Yamaha Clavinova CLP-811) that I can set to play back on
automatic pilot.  Out-of-tuneness on the bass sax is not only audible but
excruciatingly obvious.  Yeeech.  Shadow Cat enjoys the bass sax when I play
it by itself, and tolerates the piano (she prefers it set up as an organ),
but if she hears the sax and the piano playing out of tune with each other,
she gets all agitated and starts rolling and squirming around on the rug, in
a manner that suggests she thinks the sax is some sort of giant mutant tomcat
she would like to attract, despite the fact that she's spayed.  I find this
distracting.  Maybe it's a devious feline plan to persuade me to stop
practicing....

Regarding "It was number 7 and 8 of the Eppelsheim "Tubax"..." Does anyone
know the retailprice, by and large, of this instrument? And maybe too the
(email)address of the manufacturer?

According to Paul Cohen's article, the list price is around US$17K,
with a waiting list of about 2 years.  The article also has the
maker's address and telephone number, but I left my Sax J at home...
