Yep: 8 Hz = 480 pulses per minute
= eighth notes at 240 bpm
           = triplet 8ths at 160 bpm
= sixteenth notes at 120 bpm
           = triplet 16ths at 80 bpm
           = 32nd notes at 60 bpm

Makes you wonder if the tempo shouldn't be tuned to the key of the work...

Unfortunately, that's all the info I have.  I suspect that its
something on the order of a single-reed tromboon, like a bass
trombone played with a bass clarinet or bari sax mouthpiece: the
length of a contrabass clarinet bore is about 9'.  You may want to
try a bari or tenor mpc first, seeing what gives the tightest fit on
the trombone mpc receiver.  If it gets good results (i.e., is fun or
sufficiently goofy to play), you could make a more elegant adapter by
cutting down an old trombone mpc to a diameter that matches the sax
mpc inside diameter, or perhaps corking an old shank to fit.

We want sound clips ;-)
