Thanks for the info, Grant.  I went to Amazon.com and they have the album,
including a one minute sound bite which includes Lenny's solo.

Jim Beard "Song of the Sun" (1991 CTI Records 847926-2).  This CD is
mainly light jazz by keyboardist Jim Beard, but includes Lenny
Pickett on tenor sarrusophone on the first two tracks.
Unfortunately, it is not easy to pick out the tenor sarrusophone, as
the first track also includes tenor sax (Michael Brecker), soprano
saxophone (Bob Mintzer) and bass clarinet (also Bob Mintzer),  while
the second track includes soprano sax (Wayne Shorter) and bass
clarinet (Bob Mintzer), and the saxophones have all the solos.  LP
also plays Eb clarinet on two of the tracks (including one of the
sarrusophone tracks).  Perhaps I just need to crank it up louder...

Grant,
Could you please tell me all the CD's you know of Lenny Pickett soloing on?  Not neccessarily on the surrusophone, and not on tenor sax.  He's always been one of my heros, along with Scott Robinson and James Carter, for his doubling on unique horns.  Thank you very much!

Here is how I tracked them down: go to CDNow, and search for a CD that you know has LP on it.  At the bottom of the page, CDNow will sometimes list the musicians playing on the CD. This list is clickable, and by clicking on LP's name, you will get a list of all the CDs (at least, those in CDNow's database) on which LP is credited with something.  Anything.  In some cases, his credit will be "woodwinds", more often "saxophone", and sometimes "arrangement."  Be prepared for quite a long list... ;-)

Enjoy!
