It was done on the original Hoffnung Concert and then again in 1988.

Luckily, both are available on CD (it was also done in concerts throughout the world).

Third movement from Concerto for Hose-pipe and Strings (Leopold Mozart) arr. Norman del Mar
Dennis Brain (Gardener/Hose-pipe), Hoffnung Symphony Orchestra Conducted by Norman Del Mar
Royal Festival Hall, November 13, 1956 EMI CMS 7 63302 2

ALSO
Third movement from Concerto for Hose-pipe and Strings (Leopold Mozart) arr. Norman del Mar
Richard Watkins (Gardener/Hose-pipe), Philharmonia Orchestra Conducted by Tom Bergman Royal
Festival Hall, February, 1988 DECCA 444 921-2

If you get into Hoffnung (a great thing to do) "Annie Laurie" scored and conducted by Gordon Jacob for two piccolos, Heckelphone, two contrabass clarinets, two contrabassoons, serpent, contrabass serpent, harmonium, hurdy-gurdy and subcontrabass tuba.  It's brilliant!

There was a recent post on this list asking what might be the cheapest contrabass instrument.  If electrical appliances were allowed (as Hoffnung did with vacuum cleaners and a floor polisher in "A Grand Grand Overture", then how about the Magic Fingers in a cheap motel?  Cost: $0.25 per solo!

Cheers,
Chuck

Makes me regret that the Magic Fingers were out of order the one time I stayed at a motel that had them!

The tubas are junk.

For the same or less money invest in a good older used Conn, King, Holton etc.

You will be years ahead.  Even if you have to spend some dollars on a
valve replate on an older horn, you will end up with more horn for less
money, and a better valve set five years down the road.

This is ! CORRECT ! There are way too many good used american & european
made horns out there to waste your money on a jupiter. But if you want
bright & shiney for a buck, that's your choice.
