Reply-To: contrabass@contrabass.comNot so long ago; maybe a year ago if I remember correctly; I was lucky
enough to venture upon a 1907(!) Conn Silver-plate (original; 95% intact)
bari-sax with nearly no dents and the original case at a humongous indoor
flea market near my home. The price was $300; and the only catch was a
missing neck... unfortunately; when I returned with the cash the next day;
the instrument was gone. I wish I could stumble upon more deals like that!

Subject: 1916 Conn Bari SaxI saw this in the local (St. Petersburg Times)
newspaper.Conn Baritone Sax from 1916 in playing condition with case. $725

I haven't seen it, but if someone is really interested in it and wants
someone to look at it to verify condition etc., I would be happy to do
what I can.MG

Subject: Contrabass dulcian
Reply-To: contrabass@contrabass.comHi,
A few month ago I made pictures of a contrabass and a quartbass dulcian
made by Guntram Wolf. You can find them now on my web site:
www.hansmons.com/dulcians/wolf_cb_dul.htm
Especially the contrabass is an impressive instrument.
Grant, the contrabass dulcian is not in your list of big instruments, did
you know that!Have fun,
Hans Mons
