Hello!

I´m from Sweden and I am new at the contrabasslist. I like to play jazz
on my contrabass! My favorite jazzmusician is Antonio Jarlos Jobim. I
also like to play melodies with Stan Getz and Charlie Parker.

By, for now!

Well, 8' is only euphonium range.  A CC tuba is more like 16', a BBb tuba
is 18': she would have a didj in BBB.  Didn't Philip Neuman play an alphorn
 that was even longer?

Was that the world's largest alphorn that he had a special trailer for his car
to carry it? I seem to remember something about having to rest the bell end in
the center aisle for a concert.
Still trying to find out more about the contrabass tuba at Harvard. Recently,
I acquired a newspaper photo of the beast. I thinit's the same picture I
remembered from the Boston Phoenix or the Real Paper. It looks to be about 7
feet tall, so one might have to set it on a 10 inch stool to have the
mouthpiece at the right height. I have the phone number for one of the tubists
in the photo and should call him shortly. Looks like we may be approaching 30+
feet of tubing here with all 3 valves depressed. Gotta get my hand scanner
installed.....
Cheers!
